Today Bandit release their debut E.P titled ‘Here’s To Being Alive’. Already boasting a catalogue of big tunes it feels like Bandit are only just warming up and this E.P feels like the real start for the lads.

About the E.P Bandit said the following,

We very, VERY proudly present to you our DEBUT EP ‘Here’s To Being Alive’. We cannot begin to express how proud we are of this and how delighted we are to finally share it with all u beautiful people,

This cohesive collection of songs is a real stamp on who and what Bandit are. The themes and messages of Here’s To Being Alive resonate throughout all of us and are an ethos that we go by not just as a band but as individuals. ITS ABOUT THE MOMENT, NOT THE MEMORIES.

Kicking off in poetic style with the title track ‘Here’s To Being Alive’. Frontman Nat Waters channels his inner Dr John Cooper Clarke. It would be a great way to open a gig this, just Nat on his own, standing on a dark stage reciting the poem to the waiting audience.

I’m a castraophy in the making but this life is mine for the taking, my heart might be aching, my hands might be shaking, my face might be ageing but there’s no escaping the inevitability of this is our time so fuck it, here’s to being alive.

Bandit have already released three tracks from the E.P, ‘Would You Push Me In The Nettles?’, ‘Goonies (I Only Tolerate You)’ and the most recent single ‘Sefton in the Summertime’.

‘Would You Push Me In The Nettles?’ And ‘Goonies (I Only Tolerate You)’ are what I would describe as the signature Bandit sound, a sort of eerie Humbug-era Arctic Monkeys feel but what Bandit do is to layer their tracks up and turn every tune into a rollercoaster, making this a winning formular that is unmistakably theirs.

Paying homage to Liverpool’s infamous park, ‘Sefton in the Summertime’ reflects on the memory making during a warm summer’s day, dreaming of being in california. From the emotionally-stoked performance by lead guitarist Evan Tate to the cutting lyrics of frontman Nat Waters, Bandit unveil perhaps their most memorable lyrics, and mind-engraving choruses, to date, transforming into their most euphoric performance yet, while holding strongly on to the intensity so prominent across the rest of the extended play.

‘Little Miss Innocent’ is their most interesting and angriest track to date. The tune thunders along with a machine gun like rythem section and the witty lyrics are spat with venom by Nat. The story telling is incredible and one known all too well, the guy often comes out of a relationship in bad light while everyone rallies around for ‘Little Miss Innocent’.

Little Miss Innocent now you know why your not part of my show, I’m born to be wild, you’re destined to be mild.

Bandit are destined to be the next big indie band and this E.P will be one of those that fans try to get their hands on years down the line, the holy grail of releases. Across the five tracks this only scratches the surface of the band too, I would highly recommend checking out all of the band’s other singles aswell, you won’t be disappointed and I guarantee you will find a new favourite band.

Bandit are currently on tour with The Reytons, see tour poster below.
