War

Rising from the ashes of a once thriving but now forgotten fishing town, HEALER are an Alt-Indie quintet, consisting of Steve (vocals), Dave (guitar), Kirk (guitar), Tony (bass) and Jazz (drums). HEALER are a band that let their music do their talking.

Since their inception in 2022, HEALER have swiftly climbed the ranks of the local music scene and, through their magnetising performances at some of the UK’s best grass roots music venues as well as supporting Britpop legends Sleeper and Welsh Indie-Rockers Trampolene‘, they have captivated audiences and amassed a loyal following. HEALER‘s self-released music has been played regularly on BBC Music Introducing and Amazing Radio UK/USA, and, as well as being championed by TV personality and comedian Lloyd Griffith, HEALER have also been featured on This Feeling’s ‘Best New Bands’ playlist, cementing them as one of the most exhilarating new bands of 2023.

HEALER‘s emergence from the derelict docks of Grimsby has only just begun. Their first release of 2024 ‘Wake Me Up‘ made it onto Amazing Radio’s ‘Hot New Indie’ playlist and became This Feeling’s ‘Track of the Day’. HEALER also have a string of UK festivals and shows booked, which will see them play alongside Razorlight, Frank Turner, Feeder, The Twang, Jake Bugg, Ocean Colour Scene, Embrace, Tom Meighan, The Farm and The Lottery Winners.

With their eagerly anticipated latest single ‘War’ now released, 2024 is the year that HEALER are going to prove that, when a tree falls in the forest, sometimes, it does make a sound.

INTRODUCTION TO SONG (War)

Born as a beautiful acoustic ballad, ‘War‘ evolved into a full-band sing-along anthem, before finally being recorded and produced by Sugar House (Viola Beach, Corella) to emerge as a heart-touching indie-rock masterpiece. ‘War‘ addresses the daily battles that you would go through in order to make a relationship work. The message of ‘War‘, combined with the rising progression of the music throughout the song, uplifts the listener’s soul, filling them with a fighting spirit, ‘ready to go to war’.

War‘ has already been played on Charlie Ashcroft’s audition show on Amazing Radio and Jericho

Keys’ BBC Introducing show on BBC Radio York and Humberside.

This is my favourite tune so far from HEALER, very relatable.

I hear lots of bits in the song as influences and every single thing I really like, top work lads.

Jericho Keys, BBC Introducing
