Happy Pills

Liverpool indie prospects Bandit have returned with huge new single ‘Happy Pills’

Rising through the ranks with a raucous but resonant sound rooted in realism, Bandit have been making waves throughout the country over the last two years, becoming known for their visceral live shows and immediate, relatable progression on indie foundations.

Their glorious ascent was further propelled with their debut EP ‘Here’s To Being Alive’, a collection of tracks released earlier this year that saw the two piece receive critical acclaim and support from  BBC Radio 1, DIY, Dork, Spotify’s New Music Friday and more, cementing their place as one of the UK’s hottest new bands.

After storming the gates with recent single ‘Vagabond’, today sees Bandit return with new cut ‘Happy Pills’. A future singalong anthem, driving instrumentation polarises existential lyrical work and arguably one of the year’s biggest choruses. Definitively Bandit, this is an introduction to the big leagues.

Speaking about ‘Happy Pills’, frontman Nat Waters says:

‘Happy Pills’ is a reflection of my life at that point in a slightly self-deprecating way. This feeling of being slightly helpless to actually want to do anything about it though which is just a vicious cycle. When everything is going swimmingly around you but you’ve just got one of those grim grey clouds above your head and everything feels like its going wrong, everything’s hard work and everything winds you up. A feeling of the same mundanity day in day out without having any determination to do something about it.

This month sees Bandit head out on a headline UK tour, including a huge date at London’s Moth Club. More details can be found below.
