Donny Fest 2027 just announced a massive trio of acts with their first announcement.

Taking over Club Doncaster Sports Village (Doncaster Rovers Stadium) on Saturday 5th June 2027 will be Embrace headlining the main stage, bringing a catalogue that is basically a greatest hits soundtrack to a generation of indie fans. ‘Gravity‘, ‘Ashes‘, ‘Come Back To What You Know‘ and ‘All You Good Good People‘ to name a few, it will be pure anthem, after anthem, after anthem.

If that’s not enough, The Fratellis are joining them too. Yes ‘Chelsea Dagger‘, yes ‘Whistle For The Choir‘, yes, ‘Henrietta‘. Basically, if you’ve ever been in a packed indie venue with a few beers down you and found yourself screaming “DA DA DA DA DA” at the top of your voice, this one’s for you.

Then there’s The Enemy, bringing that proper mid-2000s boisterous indie ‘Aggro‘ to Doncaster. Their debut album ‘We’ll Live and Die in These Towns‘ went straight to Number 1, spawning belters including ‘Away From Here‘ and ‘Had Enough‘. In our eyes, one of the most important indie bands of the generation.

Donny Fest Director Andy O’Grady said:

“We wanted the first DonnyFest 2027 announcement to make a statement.

“Embrace, The Fratellis and The Enemy are three brilliant live bands with an incredible catalogue of songs, and bringing all three to Doncaster on the same day gives us a fantastic starting point for 2027.

“We have been working on this lineup for some time and there is a lot more still to come. We are already preparing the next announcements and we are really looking forward to showing people what we have planned for next year.

“Donny Fest has always been about creating a proper festival day in Doncaster, bringing big names to the city while also giving emerging artists and local talent a platform. That will continue in 2027.”

If you’ve been to Donny Fest before, you’ll know the lineup is always absolutely stacked, this isn’t a festival where you turn up for three bands and spend the rest of the day staring at your phone waiting for the next one. There’s a dance tent, an acoustic tent and plenty more across the festival site, meaning there’s already loads to look forward to before they’ve even started filling in the rest of the poster.

This is only announcement number one, more bands, more stages and more festival goodness are promised in the new year, with further Donny Fest 2027 announcements expected around January time.

For us personally, Donny Fest is one of our favourite festivals of the year and landing right at the start of June, it’s the perfect way to kick off the outdoor festival season. It’s become one of those dates where you know you’re going to have a proper day out and this first announcement has got 2027 off to a flyer.

Three huge names announced and we’re not even close to seeing the full lineup yet. Saturday 5th June 2027 at Club Doncaster Sports Village (Doncaster Rovers’ Stadium) get it in the diary, if Embrace, The Fratellis and The Enemy are just the opening salvo, we’ve got a feeling Donny Fest 2027 is going to be an absolute belter for Yorkshire.
