Single Review: The Red Line – Holding On
HOLDING ON
East Midlands indie upstarts The Red Line are back at it with brand-new single ‘Holding On‘ and it’s another big, guitar-soaked statement from a band that are quickly becoming ones to watch.
Hailing from Derby, the lads have been building a steady buzz with their gritty, 90s-flavoured indie sound. All crunching riffs, raw vocals and choruses that are begging to be shouted back from the front row.
‘Holding On‘ keeps that energy front and centre, it’s a proper no-nonsense indie belter, driven by thick guitars and a hook that sticks long after one spin. There’s a bit of that grunge-edge in the sound but it’s wrapped up in melody, giving it that emotional punch that hits just right.
After turning heads with their previous releases ‘Here Again‘ and ‘The Glass Between Us“, it’s clear to see that The Red Line are not hanging about, ‘Holding On‘ feels like another step forward, bigger, bolder and built for sweaty venues and late-night drives alike.
If you’re into big guitars, honest lyrics and that raw 90s-leaning spirit then this is one you’ll want on repeat.
You can catch The Red Line live at Mist Rolling In, Nottingham and also at The Victoria Inn, Derby.
