The Enemy announce new album ‘Social Disguises’

SOCIAL DISGUISES

After ten years away from the studio, The Enemy have officially announced their long-awaited new album, ‘Social Disguises’, out February 20th 2026. It’s their first full-length since 2015’s ‘It’s Automatic’ and marks a full-circle moment for one of the most iconic bands of Britain’s 00s indie boom.

‘Social Disguises’ is up for pre-order now via the official store, with all sorts of exclusive goodies: a signed extended 20-track vinyl, orange vinyl, cassette and limited numbered test pressings. You’ll also find standard CD and vinyl options, plus a deluxe CD with four bonus tracks.

If you’ve caught any of The Enemy’s recent live shows, you’ll know something special’s been brewing. Sold-out venues, fired-up crowds, The Coventry lads certainly are back and they’re not just reliving the past, they’re charging into a new chapter.

Back in the day, The Enemy smashed through with a Platinum-selling #1 debut, racked up two more Top 10 albums, Top 10 singles and even shared stages with the likes of Oasis and The Rolling Stones. Oh, and they bagged an NME Award along the way. Not bad for a band who soundtracked a generation of town-centre nights out.

Reuniting in 2022 with the original line-up Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins, and Liam Watts, the band have been on a roll, sold-out shows, festival appearances and the Indie Til I Die tour alongside The Subways and The Holloways. Between gigs, they quietly got back to what they do best, writing big and honest tunes that punch you right in the chest.

Produced by Matt Terry (who worked on ‘40 Days and 40 Nights’ and ‘No Time For Tears’, ‘Social Disguises’ sees the band strip it back to the same hungry energy that fuelled ‘We’ll Live And Die In These Towns’ but with years of graft and life lessons behind them.

Frontman Tom Clarke says:

We tried to make this album in the same frame of mind that we made our first, as though we were making the follow-up to it. It took a year to write, around 90 demos, and another year in the studio. I’m very proud of it. We all are. Whatever success it does or doesn’t enjoy I feel like we all succeeded in making a great record we can be proud of forever.

The first taste drops next Friday with new single ‘Not Going Your Way’, a proper throwback to those early days of ‘Away From Here’ and ‘We’ll Live And Die In These Towns’ but with a fresh spark that makes it pure 2025 Enemy.

Lyrically, Tom dives deep reflecting on being diagnosed with autism as an adult, the regrets that hold us back and that dizzy feeling of watching the world change faster than you can keep up. It’s still The Enemy’s classic everyman storytelling, just written by someone who’s lived a lot more life.

And if that’s not enough, the band are still tearing through their sold-out headline tour before joining Ocean Colour Scene for their huge arena run through late 2026 including stops at The O2, Manchester AO Arena and Glasgow OVO Hydro.
