~ #OnThisDay ~

On this day, back in 1999 (20 years ago), Stereophonics released their second album ‘Performance and Cocktails’.

After getting everybody’s attention with their debut album ‘Word Gets Around’ in 1997, it was ‘Performance and Cocktails’ which cemented them as many music fan’s favourite bands.

‘Performance and Cocktails’ was the band’s first #1 album and went on to be x5 platinum with over 1,750,000 copies sold.

Stereophonics are currently working on their 11th studio album which will be the follow up to 2017’s ‘Scream Above the Sounds’. The band released a new politically charged track last month titled ‘Chaos From The Top Down’, frontman Kelly Jones said that this track wasn’t in the same vibe as the rest of the album but the tune deserved to be heard.

Today, we will make the brilliant live version of ‘The Bartender and the Thief’ from an Australian TV session back in 1999 our #TuneOfTheDay.
