The new version includes the new drummer and vocalist Jake Bain. Since joining the Fife lads, he has taken the band on a slightly new direction, giving Shambolics a fuller more radio-friendly sound than that of their earlier raw recordings. Jake Bain claims that ABBA are his favourite band and Shambolics have even covered the classic ABBA hit ‘Mamma Mia‘ during their ‘Isolation Sessions’ which you can find on YouTube. The other covers also included The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Eminem, Womack & Womack and The Weeknd.

Talking about ‘Love Collides’ Darren Forbes had the following to say:

Love collides is a song about when a relationship is on the brink and is ‘forever going wrong’

The track contrasts between minor key and lyrics about how everything is breaking and then opens up in the chorus in a major key with optimistic lyrics.

Love is colliding but we can keep it together.

Shambolics are fronted by the charismatic frontman Lewis McDonald who has so much conviction in the tone of his vocals that he has you hanging on every word and that in itself, is truly an art form. Jordan McHatton finishes off the line up with his rumbles on the bass, his front and centre showmanship during the band’s live shows are also quite the spectacle.
