Single Review: Fever Dream – A Woman is a Weapon Of Sass Destruction

A WOMAN IS A WEAPON OF SASS DESTRUCTION

Fever Dream make one hell of a first impression with ‘A Woman Is A Weapon Of Sass Destruction’, a debut that doesn’t so much introduce itself as kick the door clean off its hinges.

Built on hulking, stadium-sized riffs and a sense of widescreen drama, the track balances raw alt-rock power with pop-sharp precision. There’s a swagger to it, the kind that knows exactly how big it wants to sound but it’s Stars Walker’s vocal that truly sets it alight. She moves from venomous bite to soaring, fist-in-the-air release with total control, sounding untouchable throughout.

Lyrically, this is a call to arms wrapped in distortion and defiance. The message is unapologetic, confrontational and delivered with conviction rather than cliché. It doesn’t ask for space, it takes it. Every chorus feels engineered for mass singalongs, the kind that echo back louder than the band themselves once this hits a festival stage.

There’s a cinematic edge running through the track too, with tension building and releasing like a final-act showdown. The guitars grind, the rhythm section hits hard and yet there’s still a sense of polish that keeps everything sharp rather than bloated. Heavy but hook-driven. Defiant but built to last.

As debut statements go, ‘A Woman Is A Weapon Of Sass Destruction’ is fearless. It announces Fever Dream as a band with something to say and the firepower to make sure it’s heard. If this is the opening chapter, they’re not just ones to watch, they’re ones to reckon with.

Stars’ previous work with Bang Bang Romeo earned heavy praise across BBC Radio 1, Radio X, Kerrang and beyond, but Fever Dream feels like the moment everything clicks into focus. A band built on belief, identity and sheer force of personality.
