Even the title has its own story, although the original lyric never survived the writing process, the name stuck after drummer Oli Spackman’s opening fill sounded uncannily like a pistol firing, giving the track an identity that perfectly matches its dramatic opening moments.

With debut album ‘Put A Smile On For Me’ arriving on 25 September via Island Records, Keo are quickly proving they’re far more than another hyped guitar band. Written and recorded in just ten days and self-produced by Finn alongside guitarist Jimmy Lanwern, the record promises an unfiltered look at shame, accountability, memory and self-reflection while deliberately leaving every rough edge intact.

That honesty is already resonating, after supporting Wolf Alice at huge outdoor shows and selling out their biggest UK headline tour in under 24 hours, the band’s momentum feels impossible to ignore. Fans are already singing unreleased songs back at gigs, the sort of connection most bands spend years trying to build.
