Single Review: The Balla – Paris
PARIS
There’s a moment when a band stop sounding like a band on the way up and start sounding like a band who know exactly who they are. For The Balla, ‘Paris‘ feels like that moment.
Recorded once again at Liverpool’s Motor Museum with Ben Harper behind the desk, ‘Paris‘ is a proper high-octane indie belter. Riff-led, sharp round the edges and built with one thing in mind, going off live! Razor-cut lead lines slice through a groove driven by filthy bass and heavy, relentless drums, while the vocals swagger and hook with a confidence that feels earned rather than forced.
This isn’t just another single, either, you can hear the intent. The band call it a turning point and it shows, this is The Balla capturing the chaos, energy and mates-on-a-mission spirit that’s been fuelling their shows and bottling it in the studio. The kind of track that lands hard, sticks around and demands a place in the set.
True to form, they didn’t stop at the music, a trip to Paris to “Sample the culture” and stir a bit of chaos became part of the release, showing how much fun this band are having doing it together and that chemistry bleeds straight into the track.
And the numbers back it up, in just six months, The Balla have smashed past 20,000 debut streams, sold out multiple Liverpool headline shows (with February’s hometown date already gone), packed out Manchester, landed early festival slots and sold out their spot at This Feeling’s Big in 2026 in just eight hours.
‘Paris‘ doesn’t feel like a gamble, it feels like a statement!
