Single Review: The Reytons – Busker’s Paradise
A LOVE LETTER TO A BROKEN TOWN
There’s something properly special happening with The Reytons right now. Four weeks on from the explosive return of ‘Jukebox‘, the Rotherham outfit are back with another huge statement piece in the form of ‘Busker’s Paradise‘ and it might just be one of their sharpest tracks to date.
Both tracks are previews of the upcoming album titled ‘A Love Letter To A Broken Town’ released on 24th July.

Where ‘Jukebox‘ came flying out the blocks with swagger and chaos, ‘Busker’s Paradise‘ leans harder into the storytelling side of the band that’s made them connect with fans across the country.
It’s cinematic, gritty and packed full of the everyday realism that The Reytons seem to capture better than almost anyone else in modern indie.
The track paints the picture of a street performer trying to survive in a town that feels like it’s slowly fading away around him. There’s frustration, humour and heartbreak woven throughout but beneath it all sits that unmistakable Reytons spirit, the idea of carrying on regardless, even when the odds are stacked against you.
Musically, it still hits with all the energy fans have come to expect, an infectious melody, massive hooks and that unmistakable northern edge drive the track forward, there’s also a maturity to it that shows exactly why this upcoming fourth album feels like such a landmark release for the band.
‘Jukebox‘ announced their return, then ‘Busker’s Paradise‘ leaves you wanting more. The Reytons sound bigger, sharper and more confident than ever without losing the honesty that got them here in the first place.
That feeling is something frontman Jonny Yerrell summed up perfectly when discussing the upcoming record:
“I honestly feel like this album is the best we’ve ever done! A lot of bands and artists like to change direction later in their careers, but that’s just not us. We absolutely love the style of music we make, the social commentary aspects and the people who turn up to jump around with us. Why would we change? Expect more, just bigger and better with a few surprises on the side!”
Honestly, you can hear every bit of that confidence running through ‘Busker’s Paradise‘. It still carries all the grit, humour and sharp social commentary fans fell in love with in the first place but there’s a scale to it now that feels absolutely massive.
With ‘A Love Letter To A Broken Town’ landing July 24th and a first-ever world tour now on the horizon which includes huge headline dates at Co-op Live and Alexandra Palace, this feels like a band stepping into an entirely new chapter while still keeping both feet planted firmly in the towns and stories that built them.
The rise of The Reytons has always felt different because it’s been done their own way with no shortcuts, no industry machine, no label, no backing, #AllReytons.
