Watch Foals new video for ‘Neptune’

Neptune

2019 proved to be a remarkable year for Foals in which their two-part album ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’ made a huge statement.

Following widespread critical adulation, ‘Part 1’ won Best Album at the Q Awards and was nominated for the Mercury Prize, while ‘Part 2’ saw Foals land their first ever UK #1 album.

That momentum continues undiminished in 2020 with the news that Foals have been nominated for Best Group at the BRIT Awards. They’re competing for the honour with Bastille, Bring Me The Horizon, Coldplay and D-Block Europe, and the winners will be announced at the award show on February 18th. They’re also in contention for three honours at the NME Awards: Best British Album, Best Album in the World and Best Live Act.

To coincide, Foals share a new video for ‘Neptune’, the sprawling closer to ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’ that brings the album’s journey to a dramatic, heartfelt conclusion.

Director David East’s exploratory vision for the track mixes striking natural beauty with images that conjure the feeling of a world teetering on the precipice of an apocalypse. From the coastal location to the fiery finale, East’s video perfectly complements the lyrical themes of both the song and ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’ as a whole. It’s all there in the final shot of the protagonist cast down on his knees. Impermanence is inescapable, and what comes next is a mystery.

Foals will extend the ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’ album campaign through to the end of the summer with a huge touring schedule that already spans three continents. Their UK tour is already almost entirely sold-out and includes three nights at London’s Olympia. Other highlights include numerous key European festival dates, which include several headline sets, plus tours of North America and Asia.

In addition, Foals have been confirmed to play the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on February 17th to benefit War Child. The show represents the most prestigious slot in the annual War Child / BRITs Week shows as Foals follow in the footsteps of ColdplayEd Sheeran and Muse.
