Y Not Festival gets even bigger with two new areas
DUBTENDO AND SUB CULTURE

Y Not Festival Just Went Full Rave Mode With Two Huge New Additions For 2026! Just when you thought Y Not Festival couldn’t get any bigger, the Peak District weekender has absolutely launched itself into another dimension for 2026.
Already sold out before most people had even sorted their summer plans, Y Not has now announced two brand-new late-night areas with Dubtendo and Sub Culture! Honestly, it sounds absolutely mental.
The festival which returns to Pikehall from 30th July to 2nd August has always balanced massive indie singalongs with chaotic late-night scenes, this year they’re cranking things up another notch though.
First up is Dubtendo, the UK collective have built a cult following by turning iconic video game soundtracks into full-blown drum & bass, grime and jungle weapons. Think Mario Kart chaos mixed with filthy basslines, rave visuals, cosplay and enough nostalgia to send an entire field sideways at 1am. It’s less DJ set and more full sensory overload.
Then there’s Sub Culture, a brand-new underground rave space built exclusively for Y Not 2026 and this one sounds absolutely feral.
Hidden beneath the trees it’s inspired by Peak District folklore and UK soundsystem culture, the new area promises heavyweight jungle, dubstep, drum & bass and garage powered by one of the UK’s finest soundsystems. Fire, smoke, pagan visuals and face-melting basslines? Say less Fam.
The line-up already looks ridiculous too, with legendary free party crew Smokescreen Soundsystem joining Freestylers, Jungle Cakes vs Uncommon Records, Ed Solo, Deekline, Kleu, Resist, Speaker Louis and plenty more for what could end up being the wildest corner of the entire festival.
The best bit? Y Not still somehow manages to keep that grassroots feel while getting bigger every single year.
Alongside the new additions, the late-night madness across the site is going bigger than ever with music running until 2am across multiple stages. The Quarry returns with its usual mix of rising talent and Silent Disco carnage, Scruff of the Neck’s Giant Squid keeps the alternative crowd moving with punk, rock and metal, while Flamingo Jack’s brings karaoke, comedy and pure daftness into the early hours.
Elsewhere, Club Malibu will once again be serving up wall-to-wall feel-good anthems, while The Hog & Barrel and The Pit remain the go-to spots for sweaty late-night sessions and proper live music chaos.
Following a massive 2025 edition and an early sellout for 2026, Y Not isn’t just growing, it’s evolving into one of the UK’s most complete festival experiences without losing the charm that made people fall in love with it in the first place.
Safe to say, if you managed to get a ticket… You’re in for an absolute belter… See you in the fields… Somewhere!
