Doves share cinematic new single ‘Cold Dreaming’

Constellations For The Lonely

Doves are stepping into an exciting New Year, gearing up for their sold-out UK tour dates and the upcoming release of their expansive sixth studio album. Their new single, ‘Cold Dreaming‘, is a dramatic blend of synths, strings, and psychedelic soul that gives us a glimpse of what’s to come on the full album, ‘Constellations For The Lonely’.

Cold Dreaming‘, with its crashing wave of synth riffs, deep beats, and soaring orchestral sounds, builds anticipation for the long-player.

Lyrically, it’s filled with the band’s trademark poetic longing.

Andy Williams explains:

Cold Dreaming’ is a song about forgiveness—about trying to forgive and move on. These days, resilience feels more important than ever, especially for musicians. The lyrics might touch on some of what we’ve been through.

In November, Andy, Jez, and long-time keyboardist Martin Rebelski took to the road for intimate shows at small venues, playing Doves‘ most iconic singles, hidden gems, and new tracks for lucky fans who scored tickets. The intimate gigs, with an average capacity of 300, were the band’s first live performances since 2019.

Cold Dreaming‘ arrives as Doves find themselves navigating another period of change, but the band is in strong form. With both Andy and Jez taking on lead vocal duties in the studio and on stage, they’re fueled by the support of their fans. After the release of ‘Renegade‘, fronted by Jimi Goodwin, in November, excitement for the 2025 tour has been overwhelming. Twelve of the 16 dates, including two at Manchester’s Aviva Studios, SOLD OUT within hours.

Though Goodwin won’t be joining the band for this year’s live shows, the three-piece reunited in the studio for ‘Constellations For The Lonely’, sharing a collective vision for a new, timeless Doves album. While Renegade embraced a sense of rainy dystopia, ‘Cold Dreaming‘ taps into the band’s deep love for the psych-soul era of the late ’60s and early ’70s, drawing inspiration from visionary producers like Charles Stepney and David Axelrod.

Expanding their touring plans to take on the rest of the country over three weeks this year, all dates on Doves’ largely SOLD-OUT ‘Constellations For The Lonely’ 2025 UK Tour were confirmed as follows:

Any remaining tickets and returns will be available via links hosted on www.dovesofficial.com with fans urged to join the band’s mailing list to be alerted to future touring and festival announcements.
