FLOWVERS share summer shimmering ‘Daylight’

Daylight

FLOWVERS have shared a summer banger in the form of ‘Daylight’.

Infectious, iridescent and packing an inescapable sound of summer into its 2 commanding minutes, FLOWVERS continue to showcase their knack for crafting compelling alternative indie rock bangers. Where previous singles have honed in on nostalgic indie scenes (‘Far Away‘) and treaded the boards of post-punk (‘Flowers‘ and ‘When It Comes To It‘), ‘Daylight’ unashamedly flirts with massive pop choruses destined to be sung by the masses.

Elaborating on ‘Daylight’ FLOWVERS say,

‘Daylight’, our happy sad love child. The first recordings we have are just Stan, Henry, and Matisse playing in a rehearsal room when Connor was absent. To this day we still play it three or four times back-to-back when rehearsing because of the sheer buzz we feel off it.

They continue,

When playing it at our live shows it regularly marks a moment and listeners have seemed to really connect to it. Matisse sings about a certain someone who helped him through a time last year and he often will give his all when performing it. The only thing we would say is that we could’ve looped the track, proper Kurupt FM that would’ve been.

Daylight’ follows on from aforementioned singles ‘When It Comes To It’, a buzzing blend of arena-ready riffs and commanding percussion, ‘Flowers’, a slow burner that builds up to an epic crescendo, weaving strands of indie, rock and post-punk to create a colossal four minutes much akin to the sound of Talking Heads meeting Kings Of Leon, and ‘Far Away’, a song that oozes with the same frenetic energy once present during the 2012 B-Town indie scene.

Managing to take lockdown in their stride, FLOWVERS blossomed throughout 2021, taking time to develop their sound, which has since presented them with some fruitful opportunities. Last year the Portsmouth band appeared on Scruff Of The Neck TV on Twitch – as part of a mammoth weekender celebrating new bands from up and down the country – and released of their Old Chapel Demos EP, which included an inclusion on the X-POSURE List on Radio X. They also played at the iconic Isle of Wight Festival, appearing on the This Feeling stage, sold out shows on a headline tour around the UK, appeared in the studio at talkSPORT Radio and had their music played on Soccer AM.
