Shed Seven return with ‘Kissing California’ single, album and UK tour details
A Matter of Time
Shed Seven have returned today with sun drenched new single ‘Kissing California’. As well as the single, the band have also announced that a new album titled ‘A Matter of Time’ will be released next year and the band will also head out on tour in October.
A Matter Of Time’, the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Instant Pleasures’, is due for release on January 12 through Cooking Vinyl. The record was produced by Grammy Award-winner Youth, aka Martin Glover, at El Mirador Studios in Andalucia, Spain. Mixing was handled by Cenzo Townshend.
It sees the band’s core members vocalist Rick Witter, guitarist Paul Banks and bassist Tom Gladwin joined by drummer Rob ‘Maxi’ Maxfield and keyboardist Tim Willis.
Banks said,
“For this album, we took a nostalgic journey back to our roots, immersing ourselves in the records and sounds that ignited our passion for songwriting at the tender age of 12. The influences of bands like The Smiths, R.E.M., U2, Simple Minds, The Cure, and Duran Duran permeate every note, making it a heartfelt homage to those cherished times. It embodies the essence of rebirth, empowering individuals to embrace their true selves without inhibition. With utmost conviction, we declare this as the pinnacle of our musical endeavours – the record we’ve always yearned to create.“

The York band will support their new album with a UK tour this October. Tickets go on general sale at 9.30am next Friday (July 21).
Prior to their autumn shows, Shed Seven will headline Sounds Of The City Leeds on July 15, which they’ll warm up for with shows in Warrington and Coventry. They’ll also play Holmfirth’s Picturedome and Party At The Palace in Linlithgow in August.
